⏱️ How the Experience is Paced
You've signed up to join a cohort, placing you in a group of other enthusiastic learners. Modules open one per week to help you progress at a good pace without overstimulation.
When you first log in, only Module 0 (Prework) will be open while all other modules stay locked 🔒. New modules open every 7 days. If you finish a module early, review it while waiting for the next one to unlock!
🧩 How the Modules are Structured
Each module includes:
- Learning Objectives - An outline of the week's subject
- Conversation Essentials - Essential words and phrases
- Module Work - Practice exercises to reinforce learning
- Language Lab - Individual and group activities with your cohort
- Casual Tips - Tips for sounding like a native speaker
- Grammar Points - Lightweight basic grammar knowledge (as a bonus!)
- Explore - Downloadables, worksheets, podcasts, and videos
📈 Personalized Dashboard
Your dashboard is where you can see how you're doing at a glance — language lab attendance, module progress, pod status, and how close you are to earning your certificate. Check in on it any time to see what's next.
🌐 Using a Translator
You may want to compare words and phrases in formal French. We recommend DeepL for translations - it has a sticky translation window that pops up when you highlight words. Google Translate is also a great FREE resource!
🎧 Listening & Speaking
Pronunciation is explained using "English-ish" sounds.
Listening and speaking practice is built into each module. Wherever you see the 🔊 button beside a word or phrase, tap it to hear it spoken aloud by a native speaker — then practise saying it aloud yourself.
The first time you play an audio clip, there will be a little delay while it loads.
The more you listen and repeat, the more natural your French accent will become.
🏦 Using the Word Bank
Lost a word? The Word Bank has every French word and phrase from the course in one searchable, filterable glossary. You can star words or phrases to add them to your Practice Deck so you can review them often until you learn them.
